Hewitt, Patrick
Born in March 1837 in the diocese of Cashel, Ireland. Details of education unknown. Studied at All Hallows. Ordained on 29 June 1866 for the Sydney Archdiocese. Place of ordination unknown. Arrived in Sydney in late 1866. His first assignments were in Sydney then Cooma, briefly. He then spent one year in Armidale and two in Inverell (1869-1871). He then returned to the Sydney area and southern highlands region. His final appointments were at Araluen, Newtown and Parramatta. Because of illness he went to Tasmania where he died. He died in Hobart on 25 February 1886, and was buried in Hobart.
