Biographical Notes

T.W. Campbell, The Priests of the Diocese of Armidale: A Necrology, Braddon ACT, 2005:
Fitzpatrick, Bernard

Born at Killeberran, Co Meath in September 1838. Educated at Hogan's School, Mulligan. He studied at All Hallows. The date and place of his ordination is unknown. It appears he went to the Californian goldfields (Marysville) in 1861, then to Wellington NZ in 1861, then to the Otago goldfields. His name appears in the Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin dioceses in 1867. His name also appears in the list of priests in the Kilmore diocese, Ireland in 1867. He is listed as working in the Armidale diocese in 1874, having arrived in Australia that year. There is a reference to him attending a Requiem in Sydney for the late Archbishop Steirns SJ, as a priest of the Armidale diocese, but there is no other reference to him elsewhere. His date and place of death are unknown. Place of burial unknown.
