O'Connor, George
Born in Ireland, date and place of birth unknown. Details of education unknown. Place of study unknown. Date and place of ordination unknown. Date of arrival in the Armidale diocese unknown. His first appointment in the Armidale diocese was as assistant priest Gunnedah. In 1954 he was transferred from Quirindi to Glen Innes as assistant priest. He subsequently was based at Tamworth. When parish priest, Narrabri he was responsible for construction of the new church, and gained the services of a significant European artist in glass to do the windows, which are highly regarded as works of art. He subsequently became parish priest Uralla, where he died on 26 April 1983. He was buried in Uralla cemetery.
