Biographical Notes

Father Francis James McKinlay was born in Warwick on 27th July 1925, the son of Francis Richard and Doreen Elizabeth (Kelleher). He studied at Banyo Seminary, and was ordained on 29th June 1948. After attending the Queensland University from 1949-1950, he attained his M.A Degree. Subsequently he was a staff member
at Banyo Seminary from 1950-1965. Many Queensland priests will gratefully remember him as Professor of English, Latin and History. His first parish appointment followed - Maryborough from 1965-1966. He was then appointed Parish Priest of Cleveland in 1966. Most recently he was honoured by the Canberra University with a Master of Literature Degree. He entered eternal life on 6th August 1994, the Feast of the Transfiguration. R.I.P.
