Chaplain in the Boer War
Born at Goulburn he did his studies for the priesthood at Mary's Mount, Goulburn.
Directories indicate: Marrickville (1893), Goulburn (1892) (1897). Superior in
Goulburn, at least in 1898, Marrickville again (1899). Chaplain in the Boer War (1901). Possibly he worked with one of the Passionist communities in U.S.A. An old copy of the Messenger of the Sacred Heart (Melbourne) records that he died in Dakota, U.S.A. in August 1924.

Listed in E J Doody, Acta et Statuta 1951, Appendix VI, Obituary List, in the section headed 'supplementary list of priests who have also worked in the diocese', but with no details other than the period he reputedly worked in the diocese, in this case 1891.
Clement Cain was a Passionist priest who conducted missions. He probably would have conducted a mission or missions within the diocese in the period nominated. He was not a priest of the diocese.
