Dilworth, being about to leave the colony, has been requested by some of his friends to lecture, before going, on some popular subject. He has chosen the "Relations of Church and State in Ancient and Modern Times"—a subject that is certainly pregnant with the deepest interest at the present epoch. It is one which most people think they understand, but which few understand alike. A review of its leading features and general aspect is all that would be possible, even in two lectures, but we can easily conceive such a review being made to convey a great amount of curious information not generally known, or in the heat of party feeling partially forgotten. Father Dilworth has the character, in his own church, of being a very good preacher; and, though he is a very young man, we have no reason to doubt the extent of his information and scholastic acquirements. We therefore think it probable that, while some may dispute his facts, and many deny his conclusions on such a subject, all may find the lectures to be delivered on this evening and to-morrow evening, in the Town Hall, both instructive and pleasing. --- Shipping Intelligence. T C Delworth: Timothy Dilworth served in Sandhurst diocese. He was born on 24 May 1841 to John and Ellen Riordan of Inniscarra in the diocese of Cloyne and ordained from All Hallows Dublin for the diocese of Plymouth on 24 May 1866. In 1869 he began an odyssey serving in Omaha, Milwaukee and Chicago, before coming to Australia. He arrived in Sydney on 24 August 1871. He served in Brighton, Gisborne and Bendigo, before going to Auckland in New Zealand in 1873. He came to Sydney from Auckland on 5 November 1883 [1873?]. Did he spend a time in Brisbane during his roaming?(1) Fr Tom Linane states that he suffered from Tuberculosis. Australian records place his death in June 1883? Footnote<>br> 1.
