Death notice, Taranaki Daily News, 19 March 2014:

Garty, Fr. Francis Patrick (Frank). - QSM. 1920 - 2014. Died peacefully at Sunhaven Rest Home New Plymouth on Tuesday 18th March 2014 in his 94th year. Youngest son of the late Thomas and Margaret Garty. Loved brother of John (Jack), Eric (Dick) and Margaret (Peg Devlin) all deceased. Father Frank will be sorely missed by his nieces and nephews and their families. As a priest he officiated at the christenings or marriages of most of his nieces and nephews. Jack's children are Margaret (Crawford) of New Plymouth, and Anne-Marie (Biggs) of Auckland. Dick's children are Brenda (Davies) of Wellington, Kevin (Brisbane), Peter (Wellington), Vincent (Brisbane), and Philip (England). Peg's children are Tony (Auckland), Margaret (Devlin) of Auckland and Paul of Milton. He was also much loved by his many grand nieces and nephews. He was always interested us and has blessed us all our lives. He lived and worked mostly under the shadow of Mt Taranaki - he was always a man of God and a servant to his people, and he will be remembered in our hearts.
The family acknowledges the love and support of his church community throughout his life, and we acknowledge also the loving care Fr. Frank received at the Mission and Sunhaven Rest Homes over these last years. Messages C/O Hardings, PO Box 605, Hawera 4640
