Briody, Patrick, Irish, Golden Jubilarian
Pastor of Collie W.A., 1918-43
b. Collinstown, Co. Westmeath 1867; ed. AH; ord.'98; arr. Perth early '99. Served at Kalgoorlie, Collie (as assistant), Bunbury, First parish charge at Kanowna where he remained 8 years. Next assignment was at Albany (CD 1916). From 1918-43 he was Pastor in the mining town of Collie. Here and at other posts he was noted for his visitation propensity - going round the railway gangs and timber mills in the expanding south-west region. Years of retirement '43-'54 were spent fittingly at Mon Repose home in Perth - where the weary bones found repose in the quiet twilight of old age and a happy death. d.3.6.1954;age 87. Burial: St. Joseph's Orphanage Grounds, Subiaco.
