Into the Silence from Beagle Bay
The caption "Into the silence" doesn't indicate that Marie Joseph left the priesthood. Probably he went back to the diocesan priesthood in which he had originally served in France. He was born in the Lille Diocese, February 1845, and came to the Cistercian Mission in the Kimberleys of W.A. in 1895. Finding the hardships more severe than he expected he left the Order in the following year. No death date has been traced and the information was sent by the late Fr. Senan Moynahan when he was Archivist in Perth.
