Conroy, James Arthur
Born on 23 June 1910, [Glen Innes]. Educated at St Joseph's convent, Glen Innes and St Columba's College, Springwood. Studied at St Patrick's College, Manly. Ordained on 5 December 1937 at Glen Innes by Bishop J A Coleman. His first appointment was as assistant priest Quirindi. He was parish priest Walgett for four years, then Bundarra for seven years, and finally Barraba for 12 years. Failing health forced his retirement to Nazareth House, Tamworth. He died in Tamworth after a lengthy illness on 11 April 1978. He was buried in the Tamworth cemetery.
