News and Notes, The Ballarat Star, 27 January 1875, p 2, http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article208251247:
We hear that since the arrival of the Roman Catholic Bishop in Ballarat, the Rev. Michael Meade has been appointed resident clergyman at Smythesdale for the Smythesdale district. It seems that the rev. gentleman's residence, at least in the meantime, will be the cottage formerly occupied by the late Mr A. Drury, P.M. [...]. Some more appointments, it seems, are shortly to be made.
