Mossman Notes. Rev. Father Vignoles, The Cairns Post, 13 November 1954, p 6, http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article42846441:

Advice has been received of the death in Ireland of Rev. Father Vignoles, who was, in the early 1930's, Catholic parish priest at Mossman. It has been recalled that it was in Father Vignoles' term as parish priest that the present buildings in the Catholic Church grounds, being the church, school, convent and presbytery, were built. Previously the church building had been opposite the Mossman Butchering Company premises, where Mr. Denford's residence is now built. With the construction of the buildings in Grogan-street, the Sisters of Mercy first arrived, Father Vignoles vacating the presbytery building for their accommodation until the convent building was completed. After leaving Mossman parish, Father Vignoles subsequently went back to his native Ireland, remaining there until his death. He held, at the time of his death, the post of Prior of the Augustinion Convent at Fethard, Tipperary.
