Biographical Notes

Fr T.J. Linane, From Abel to Zundolovich, Vol. 2: Biographies of Priests on the Australian Scene up to 1900, 1980, p 139:

Derichemont, Frederick, MSC, French
Man of Wide Experience Who Left the Sacred Heart Community
Exact origin and education details are unknown. All that we could ascertain from the MSC Archives, Canberra, was that he was ordained on 19 December 1885 and was a missionary with experience in several countries. After ordination he worked in France and later in Spain. He spent a few years in Quito, Ecuador, five years in Glastonbury, England, and four years in Mercer, USA. In June 1900 he was at Randwick and Kensington, staying on until the following year. While here he applied for a dispensation to serve as a secular and in July was accepted by a bishop in Tucson, USA. An effort to trace his later career has so far been unsuccessful.
