Rev Joseph Francis Callaghan, died 11 Dec 1989
Joseph Francis Callaghan was born in Dalby on 23rd September, 1925, to Michael and Catherine Bridget Callaghan (nee Hinds). He attended Holy Name Convent and St Mary's CBC. After completing his seminary training at Banyo, he was ordained in Toowoomba on 26th July, 1950, by Archbishop O'Donnell. His first appointment was in Warwick (1951), followed by Charleville (1952-55); Parkes (in the Wilcannia-Forbes Diocese 1955-58); St Patrick's Toowoomba and Goondiwindi (1959); Quilpie, as PP (1959-63); Mitchell as ADM (1963-66); St Patrick's Toowoomba (1968-69); Wallumbilla as PP (1969-77); St George, as PP (1977-85) and Pittsworth, as PP in 1985. He died in 1989 and is buried in the Toowoomba Lawn Cemetery.
