Obituary. Monsignor Goidanich, The Age, Melbourne, 19 August 1948, p 2, http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article206905256:

One of the best-known members of the Catholic clergy in Victoria, Monsignor Edward O'Sullivan Goidanich, died in Ararat yesterday. He was aged 82.

Born in Queenstown, Ireland, he was ordained at Dublin in 1891, and came to Australia two years later. His first appointment was at Charlton.

Enlisting as a chaplain in the first A.I.F., he saw service at Gallipoli, was wounded, and received the Military Cross, a unique distinction for a padre.

On his return from the first world war he was stationed at Port Fairy. In 1930 he went to Ararat as parish priest.
