Rest in peace Brother John, Parish Bulletin, Richmond NSW, 21 March 2021, https://parishofrichmond.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/12-21-March-2021.pdf,accessed 30 July 2026:

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Brother John Gibson O.H. last Sunday 14th March. Brother John dedicated his life to caring for others as a Brother of St. John of God. He was a gentle presence, a light in darkness for those suffering mental health issues and addictions, an inspiration to those who worked with him. He lifted up those who were bowed down, offered a listening ear, like Simon helped carry the cross of many, walked the extra mile, a true and loyal friend. He served as Prior and Provincial of the Order walking humbly in the footsteps of his founder. Later in his vocation, John was ordained a priest, but always preferred to be known as Brother John. In his time in Richmond, he willingly helped with Parish Masses and administered the Sacraments. A true ‘Christ bearer’. May the Angels and Saints accompany you, John and present you to God the Most High. ‘Well done good and faithful servant.
