Biographical Notes

Funeral brochure:
Fr Ashley Peter Warbrooke was born on 11th February 1947 in Brisbane, Queensland to parents Leicester George Warbrooke & Lynlie Elizabeth Warbrooke (nee Fritsch). He is the younger brother of Kent Warbrooke.
During his schooling years, Ashley attended primary school at St Joseph's Convent, Corinda and Marist Brothers, Rosalie for his secondary education.
Following school, Ashley entered Pius XII Provincial Seminary, Banyo, to begin his formation for priestly ordination.
On 9th August 1972, Fr Ashley was ordained a priest at the Cathedral of St Stephen.
His first priestly appointment was at St Catherine's, Wishart as an Assistant Priest.
Following this, he served in the Parishes of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, Darra, St Agatha's, Clayfield, St Mary's, Ipswich and St Mary's, Beaudesert.
From 1986 to 1990, Fr Ashley spent time as the Archbishop's secretary in the Cathedral of St Stephen.
His first appointment as a Parish Priest was at St Flannan's, Zillmere, where he spent six years. This was followed by Parish Priest appointments in St Peter's Rochdale and Star of the Sea, Cleveland.
Over his time in ministry, he also served as a Chaplain to the Royal Brisbane Hospital and the Redland Hospital.
Fr Ashley retired in 2021, often providing supply to many parishes in the North Country Deanery.
He will be remembered in these communities affectionately and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Archbishop Mark Coleridge invites the Clergy, Religious and people of the Archdiocese of Brisbane, and all relatives and friends to participate in a Funeral Mass for Father Ashley Warbrooke to be celebrated at the Cathedral of St Stephen, Elizabeth St Brisbane on Thursday, 12th June at 10.00am.
Following Mass, the Funeral will proceed to Nudgee Cemetery for the Rite of Christian Burial. All welcome.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ashley Peter Warbrooke, who passed away unexpectedly on the 2nd June 2025. Aged 78.
Beloved brother of Kent, brother-in-law to Margaret, Uncle to Melanie, Mark, Jennifer and Stephanie, and Grand Uncle to Aidan, Caitlin and Luke.
He will be remembered for his kind heart, strength of character, quick wit and the support and compassion he provided to all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to attend a service to celebrate Ashley's life, which will be held at St Stephen's Cathedral, Brisbane, on Thursday 12th June at 10am.
