A cablegram has been received by Rev. Father Sweeney, Administrator of Sacred Heart Parish, announcing that Rev. Father John Walsh, Parish Priest of Bowen for many years, had died while the boat was in the Red Sea. A native of County Kilkenny, Ireland, Father Walsh has spent many years in North Queensland, and about 20 years ago was stationed in the Cloncurry district. He left Australia about 12 months ago on a visit to the Old Country, and was returning from his holiday. The cabled advice states he was buried at sea.
