Biographical Notes

Fr T.J. Linane, From Abel to Zundolovich, Vol. 1, 1979, p 31:

Brady, Matthew, Irish
b. Kilmore Dioc., Co. Cavan May 1859; ed. at Ballyjamesduff and AH; ord. 1882; arr. Melb. at end of year. A chequered career followed and CD's read: St. Francis '83; second pastor of Gordon '84-6, Tarraville, first pastor of Yea '90-5, Daylesford '95-6, Kilmore. We lose sight of him for a time. Then South Melb. '98-00; Gordon '00, on sick leave '01. Another loss of trail. Possibly he is identical with an M. Brady in Gawler, S.A., in 1908. Place of death unknown, but his remains are in the Priests' Mortuary Chapel at the MGC (Carlton). The wall plaque reads: d. 9.8.1911; age 52.
