Chaix, Pierre, SM, French, Visitor
This missioner served in New Zealand and Fiji. Born in St. Brieuc Diocese in 1857 he was professed in 1879. He left France to come to N.Z. in 1883. Seemingly he returned from Fiji to N.Z. for he died in Meeanee on 10 March 1890. Age: 32.

Fiji
He was born in Côtes-d'Armor, France in 1857. He was professed a Marist in 1879. In 1883, aged 25, he went to Fiji where he worked in Rewa. Two years later, he was the first priest to be posted to Suva and lived there in the sacristy of a small house which served as the church. Ill health forced him to leave Fiji. After a short time in Sydney he went to Napier in New Zealand where he died aged 33.
