Fr. Ferdinand Junillon, d 1871:

Wallis and Futuna
He was born in Drôme, France in 1799. He was a diocesan priest when he joined the Society [of Mary], being professed in 1844. That same year he was sent to Central Oceania, aged 45. After a short time in a parish he was placed in charge of establishing the seminary at Lano on Wallis. In 1855 he arrived in Sydney with 4 students to begin a seminary there. However, due to a misunderstanding between Bishop Bataillon and the Sydney Procure, he returned to Wallis soon after. In 1859 he was posted to Sydney and was appointed first superior of the seminary at Clydesdale. After three years he returned to take charge of the parishes on Futuna, where he died at the age of 72.
