Henebry, of Cloncurry, Piltown, County Kilkenny, Eire; aged 31 years. Requiescat in pace. --- Obituary. Father Henebry, The Northern Grazier and Miner, Leonora, 8 July 1944, p 1, http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article257656475: The sad news was conveyed to us on Thursday of the death of Rev. Fr. Henebry, who for some years was parish priest in this district. From the meagre particulars since disclosed, it appears that Fr. Henebry, accompanied by a Mr. and Mrs. Garde, were occupants of a motor car and, when about two miles distant from Kellerberrin, they were involved in a collision, resulting in the death of all three. The late Father was a native of Ireland, and was about 31 years of age. While in our midst, Fr. Henebry endeared himself not only to the members of his flock but to those of other denominations, and was especially well liked by the children of Gwalia and Leonora, and his kindly nature also made him a close friend to those who sought spiritual advice. It is understood that it was Father Henebry's intention to visit his old friends in this district at the end of July.—R.I.P. --- Items of Interest, The Northern Grazier and Miner, Leonora, 15 July 1944, p 4, http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article257656657: In our reference last week to the victims of the crossing smash near Kellerberrin, we inadvertently gave the names of the two passengers with Rev. Fr. Henebry as "Mr. and Mrs. Garde," whereas it should have read Mr. Thomas Bogue and his mother. |
