Accession to the Roman Catholic Clergy, South Australian Register, Adelaide, 24 June 1868, p 2, http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article39183369:

We published in the passenger-lists of the Coorong and Rangatira on Monday the names of several clergymen of the Roman Catholic Church, who have come to the colony at the instance of the Right Rev. L.B. Shiel. We have been able to glean the following information with reference to them:—The Rev. P.F. O'Rourke is a Capuchin friar of the order of St. Francis. He completed his noviciate at the Convent at Frascati, about 10 miles from Rome, and made his studies at Chambery, in Savoy. Father O'Rourke laboured for some time upon the English mission, and then for three or four years at the Capuchin Chapel, Church-street, Dublin. Father the Rev. James Quinlan volunteered for the Australian Mission directly after his ordination, at the invitation of Dr. Shiel, from St. John's College, Waterford, of which diocese he is a native. The Rev. James Nolan, O.S.A., is a native of the City of Dublin. He made his noviciate at Tolentino, in Italy, as an Augustinian, studied Philosophy at Fermo and Divinity at Rome, being subsequently ordained priest at Maierata, in the diocese of Tolentino. The rev. gentleman has been on the mission seven years in the dioceses of Armagh and Limerick. The Rev. Mr. McClusky is a sub-deacon. He is a native of Derry, but studied his course of Philosophy at the Waterford College.

'The Chaplet', South Australian Register, Adelaide, 3 May 1871, p 5, http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article39241929:

This Roman Catholic monthly has been enlarged to the size of its predecessor the Southern Cross, and a copy of the issue, dated April 29, has been received. From it we glean the following items :— Bishop Sheil, who on account of delicate health left for Melbourne on April 11, is expected back within a few days. [...] During the month several changes have taken place in the clerical staff of the diocese. The Rev. J. Quinlan is now stationed in Willunga, and the Rev. M. Kennedy in Adelaide. The Rev. P. Byrne goes to Mount Barker with the Rev. J. Maher, and the Rev. P. Corcoran to Kadina in place of Father Quinlan.
