His birth into the caring and warm family of the Halls proved a great start for Frank, as he carried those gifts with him throughout his life. His early education was at St Saviour's followed by St Mary's Christian Brothers College in Toowoomba. He then went on to spend two years in the Queensland Railways Offices. Growing up in a priestly tradition, he entered Banyo Seminary in 1943 and was ordained in St Patrick's Cathedral, by Bishop Roper, on 1st July, 1952. His first appointment was to St Patrick's Cathedral (1952-55) followed by years spent in Charleville (1956-59); St Theresa's, Toowoomba (1960-62); Dalby (1962-71); Jandowae (1972-73) and Texas (1974-77). His life was troubled with many years of personal illness and hospitalisation. Through this he gained a great sensitivity and awareness for people in trouble and in need. His generosity and gentleness will always be remembered, not only by immediate family and friends, but by his 'extended parish' families that were blessed by his presence. He was a pious man with a deep, strong faith. He related very well with his fellow priests and had a great way with youth. After retiring in 1975, he entered Lourdes Home in Toowoomba. He became Chaplain there between 1979 and 1985, and he remained in the home until his death, although he very much missed his Parish life and always yearned to return. The gift of Fr Frank Hall's life was celebrated at St Patrick's Cathedral on Friday 28th May, 1999. He is interred in the Toowoomba Garden of Remembrance.
