Death of Rev. Prior Kindelan, The Age, Melbourne, 29 March 1926, p 9, http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article155781691:

The death occurred at Coonara private hospital, St. Kilda-road, on Saturday morning of Rev. Prior Kindelan, of Middle Park, one of the most distinguished members of the Carmelite order. A man of great initiative, organising ability and boundless energy, Prior Kindelan, during his twenty-three years' work at Middle Park, rebuilt the church, more than doubling its size; built a church hall, which is the largest hall in Middle Park, with extensive club rooms; a boys' school, which is now Mount Carmel College; and a substantial presbytery, all of which are practically free from debt. For his innumerable charitable deeds, however, he will be best remembered by all classes and creeds in his district. Possessed of a wide knowledge of human nature, and an unlimited fund of humor, his practical advice from the pulpit earned for him a reputation that spread far beyond his local flock. As a missioner he visited many parishes in the various States. Born in County Kildare, Ireland, Prior Kindelan was 62 years of age. He had a brilliant scholastic course at the Perenure Carmelite College, Dublin, and was ordained in Rome in 1891. A year later he came to Australia, and spent eleven years in South Australia, and then twenty-three years at Middle Park. For the greater part of that period he was pro-provincial of the Carmelites in Australia. He was an executive member of the Catholic Truth Society, and served on one of the ecclesiastical boards governing the archdiocese. There will be a solemn office and requiem Mass at the Mount Carmel church this morning at 10.30.
