Death notice, New Zealand Herald, Auckland, 2 August 2011:

Cushlow, Father Gerard, (Pa Kereti). Passed away in the early hours of Sunday at his home in Papatoetoe. He was aged 92. There will be a Requiem Mass for him at Te Unga Waka at midday 12 noon Monday. Ngati Kahu will then take him to Waitaruke where he will be interred next to his mother. The funeral will be on Wednesday 11am. He was born in Horden, Co. Durham, England the son of a miner. He studied for 12 years in the missionary colleges of the Mill Hill Missionaries in England and Holland. He was ordained priest in 1944. He arrived in Aotearoa in 1945; he learnt his Maori in Tai Tokerau and among the Arawa of Rotorua. He ministered in Hokianga and Whangaroa for most of his life. Haere ra e Pa. Haere ki te okiokinga.
