Biographical Notes
Bendigo Advertiser Wed 28 Dec 1904 Page 8 EAGLEHAWK. An old resident of the Whipstick, in the person of Mons Emmanuel Royer, was convoyed to the Bendigo Hospital in a feeble and sick condition by Constable Thomson last evening. The invalid, who, as his name indicates, is a Frenchman, has had a most varied and chequered career. He attained the distinction, it is stated, of the decree of Bachelor of Arts when but a youth in France. He is a most accomplished linguist, but his later years have been marked by adversity and a lonely life in the bush.
