Sheehy, Patrick (OSFC)
Patrick Sheehy (Fr Thomas) was born at Listowel, England, 30 September 1839. He entered the Capuchins in England on 20 October 1858, was Simply Professed on 22 October 1859 and Solemnly Professed on 29 November 1862. After working at Greenhithe from 1870 to 1871 and at Northfleet from 1871 to 1874 he joined the Irish Province in November 1875.
He was assistant Priest at Moree 1904 to 1906. There is no other record of his service in the diocese. He died in Quirindi on 21 December 1906 while on a visit to the town. He is buried at Quirindi. The inscription on the headstone over his grave records an incorrect date of death. It reads: 'Of your charity pray for the soul of The Rev Thos P Sheehy OSFC, died 27 December 1906, Aged 70 years. 'Pie Jesu dona ei requiem'. Erected by the Priests and Parishioners of Moree'.
