Healy, James

Born in Limerick, Ireland, place and date of birth unknown. Details of education unknown. Place of study unknown but he was a student at Propaganda College, Rome. Date and place of ordination unknown. On arrival in the diocese his first appointment was as assistant priest Tamworth. He served at Tamworth, Gunnedah, Armidale, Warialda, and was parish priest Uralla when appointed to Gunnedah in 1954. He later became parish priest Inverell.
He was the Diocesan Inspector of Schools from 1927 to 1944, succeeded in the position by John Michael O'Connor. He was Vicar General of the diocese for some years. He went to Ireland for a period of recuperation after illness shortly before the death of Bishop E J Doody and never returned. He died in Ireland on 4 April 1982. Place of death unknown. Place of burial unknown.
