Campbell, The Priests of the Diocese of Armidale: A Necrology, Braddon ACT, 2005: Born in Kyle, Co Carlow, date unknown. Details of his education are unknown. Place of study unknown. Date and place of ordination unknown, but in Ireland, and possibly 1874. He was a cousin of Cardinal Patrick Francis Moran. He spent the first seven years after ordination as a priest in Ireland, and then came to New South Wales in 1881. His first appointment was Glen Innes as 'a recent arrival in the colony'. In February 1882 he transferred to Tenterfield, but soon left there and spent some time in Lismore. He then went to Sydney, was appointed to Marrickville, finally becoming the first parish priest of Erskineville in 1887. After some years he retired from that parish because of ill health and became chaplain at St Margaret's hospital Darlinghurst. He died on 10 March 1924, and was buried at Rookwood cemetery.
