Last Tribute. Late Rev. Father McGrath, Glen Innes Examiner, 28 March 1935, p 7, http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article184625683:

Yesterday morning, Uralla paid its last tribute of respect and esteem to the late Rev. Father P. McGrath.

Solemn Office of the Dead was chanted and Requiem High Mass celebrated in St. Patrick's Church.

The presence of practically every priest in the Diocese was eloquent testimony of the affection and high esteem in which Father McGrath was held by his fellow priests.

The intoning of the Solemn Office by the priests was most impressive, the chanters being Rev. Fathers McDermott and O'Reilly. The Requiem High Mass was celebrated by his Lordship, Bishop Coleman. The Deacon and Sub-Deacon were Rev. Fathers Walsh and Healey, respectively, and the Master of Ceremonies was Rev. Father S. O'Brien (Adm.) The Very Rev. Monsignor Tobin, V.G., was present in the Sanctuary.

The Mass was sung by the priests in the beautiful Gregorian music of the Church. After the Mass His Lordship pronounced the Final Absolution.

The Mayor of Uralla, Ald. A.V. Gostelow, and deputy-Mayor, Ald. E. Ferris, and the Town Clerk, Mr. M. Heffernan, represented the Council and citizens of Uralla. The Mayor and Mayoress of Armidale, Ald. and Mrs. M. H. O'Connor, were also present. On the conclusion of the High Mass the Bishop delivered an eloquent panegyric.
