A private letter from Brisbane Water states that the Rev. Mr. Healy, a Roman Catholic clergyman, was accidentally drowned on Tuesday morning, at the Sandpits, and that the body had not been recovered up to Thursday evening. Particulars are not given.

Date of death recorded as 14 November 1854, with the spelling Healey, by Rev. T. Southerwood, A Prayer-Calendar of Deceased Priests in Australia 1788-2009, p 152. Date of death stated on 2 December on his gravestone. neither of these appears to be correct: death was probably on 7 November 1854.
