Biographical Notes
Death notice, Sydney Morning Herald, 9 May 2020:
Reverend Father Peter Vincent Morrissey
14.08.1928 - 28.04.2020
Late of Ewos Parade, Cronulla.
Ordained into the Priesthood in 1955.
Parish Priest in many locations within the Sydney Archdiocese for over sixty years.
Passed away peacefully in Sutherland Hospital after a mercifully short illness.
Son of John and Stella Morrissey of Hornsby. Loving brother of Jack, Marjorie, James, Joan, Eileen and Patricia Morrissey (all deceased).
A wonderful uncle to the many children of the Conroy and Piggott families, and amongst other things, taught us all to throw a boomerang.
Peter was a wonderful humanist who cared for all with great compassion and understanding. He will be remembered fondly and missed by his family, colleagues and past parishioners.
May he rest in eternal peace.
Due to the current restrictions on funerals, a Memorial Service will be held at a future date.
Private funeral.
