Rev Kevin James Noble, died 4 June 2010
Kevin James Noble was born on 8th October 1945 in Warwick. son of William Thomas Noble and Hanora Ellen Ryan. He had three sisters.
His primary school education took place at the Upper Freestone State School. He attended Nudgee College for two years and then went home to work on the family farm for 12 months. Kevin then went back to the Christian Brothers College in Warwick to complete his Senior studies. He worked in the Commonwealth Bank before entering Banyo Seminary in 1967. Fr Kevin was ordained a priest on 8th August 1973 in St Mary's Church Warwick by Bishop William Brennan.
Fr Kevin's first appointment was to Our Lady of Lourdes Toowoomba and subsequent appointments were to St Theresa's Toowoomba, Warwick, Goondiwindi, Surat, Texas, Killarney and to Warwick again in April 2008.
He was a member of the Council of Priests and a Consultor to the Bishop and was involved in the Cursillo Movement when it was active in the Diocese. Earlier he had also been a member of the Diocesan Personnel Board.
He was a dedicated, loyal and kind priest reaching out and caring for all in the community regardless of race or creed. He took his pastoral duties seriously and always remembered people by name and the important events in their lives. He had the ability to sum up a situation in a few words with remarkable accuracy.
Family was very important to Fr Kevin and he helped his sisters care for their ageing mother in her later years.
Fr Kevin died on 4th June 2010 after a short battle with cancer. A Vigil took place in the parish church of St Mary's Church, Warwick on 9th June and his Funeral Mass was celebrated by Bishop William Morris DD in St Mary's Church, Warwick on 10th June 2010. Fr Kevin is buried at Eden Gardens Memorial Park, Warwick.
