O'Donohoe,Gippsland Times, 20 June 1890, p 3, http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article65297501: A pleasing ceremony took place at St. Mary's school-room, Sale, on Wednesday evening when the Rev. P. O'Donohoe, who has very successfully labored in the Gippsland district for the past ten years and has now been transferred to Gordons, was made the recipient of an illuminated address, a beautiful salver and a purse of sovereigns. The attendance was a representative one and Mr. P. Finegan occupied the chair. The following clergymen were present:—Revs. Fathers O'Leary, O'Shea and Coleman, of the Cathedral; Rev. P. J. McCormack, of South Gippsland; Rev. J. B. Collier, Bairnsdale; Rev. Father Dawson, Cowwar. [...] The band played "Auld Lang Syne," after which the chairman, and Fathers Collier (Bairnsdale district), and McCormick (South Gippsland district), made a few remarks. Father Collier said that Father O'Donohoe had laboured zealously in the Bairnsdale district, and although he was the only representative from there, the rest were present in spirit. Father McCormick, in the course of his remarks, said that if Father O'Donohoe succeeded as well in the Bungaree district as in Gippsland, the Bungaree savages should be well satisfied. (Laughter.)
