John McMahon of the MSC Archives, Canberra. Victor was born in Belgium on 23 March 1871 and professed as a Sacred Heart missionary on 23 November 1891. He came from France to British New Guinea as a scholastic and was ordained there on 21 December 1895. Alas, the priestly career lasted only three years for he died at his mission station on 5 January 1899 at the early age of 27. Like other missionaries going to New Guinea he had passed through Sydney. (Footprints, Vol. 3, No. 8)

A Short Missionary Career in British New Guinea
The name is added to the list through the courtesy of Fr. John McMahon of the MSC Archives, Canberra.
