Like His Brother, Many Years in Samoa
From the details found in Father Hosie's Necrology, he would appear to be an older brother of Augustin. Born in Puy, Annecy Diocese, on 23 June 1836. Professed on 9 February 1861. Passed through Sydney in 1862. Like his brother he spent many years in Samoa and directories of the late 90s and early 1900s place him at Upola Island. He died on 9 May 1905 at the age of 68.

He was born in Puy-de-Dôme, France in 1836. He was professed a Marist in 1861, and in the following year, at the age of 26, he arrived in Sydney and spent one year teaching in the seminary at Clydesdale. The next year he went to Samoa, to the station of Falefa on the island of Upolu. He served the people there for the next 42 years, dying at the age of 69. For most of this period his younger brother, Augustine, also a Marist priest, worked on the same island.
