New Caledonia
He was born in Doubs, France in 1851. He was professed in 1874. After 3 years teaching in the seminary, he arrived in New Caledonia in 1880, at the age of 29. He worked for a while at La Roche and île Nou, before he settled at Penelo on Mare, in 1882, where he stayed nearly until death. While building the church at Medu his eye was injured and he had to go to Noumea for treatment. He died at Paita, at the age of 44.
