The Capuchins come to Melbourne, Advocate, Melbourne, 30 June 1949, p 11, http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article172504774:
Australia is, perhaps, the last continent to which the Capuchins came. The first Capuchin to arrive in Australia was a Father Edward McSweeney, who was stationed at St. Francis' Church, Melbourne, during 1851. Early in 1852, on instruction from his Congregation, he returned to Ireland and is reported to have died in April of that year.
