Inspector of Schools in Goulburn
His Parents were Richard and Joanna (nee Walsh) and he was born in Newtownsandes, near Listowel, County Kerry, in October 1853. The All Hallows records tell us this much and that he was ordained for the Goulburn Diocese on 24 June 1877. He came to Australia on the 'Durban' arriving in October of the same year. Directories show that he was in Wagga (1881) and Goulburn (1883), being given the task of Schools' Inspector. For some unknown reason he transferred to the Sandhurst Diocese, and the 1886 Directory gives his station as Heathcote. While there he built a church at Cornella Creek (?). Nagambie was the next field of work (Directories 1888, 1892). Then Chiltern-Rutherglen Parish from 1893 until his untimely death on 23 May 1895. Age: 41.
