Blake, Rev. Cyril. Adored uncle of Dianne and Peter. Cy, your faith nurtured, guided and blessed us; your wisdom consoled us; your love strengthened us; your mind and creativity inspired us; your presence enriched our lives and our home; your selflessness reminded us of the power of empathy and sacrifice; your smile reflected God's constant love; you encouraged and celebrated our leadership; your friends were like family to us; your humour made us laugh; your cooking made us glad that we could cook for you. In life you lived the Gospels and in death you embraced God with faith, hope and love. You made us proud to be Catholic and as Priest and Uncle you will be in our hearts forever.

Blake, Rev. Cyril. Beloved son of George and Pauline Blake (both dec.). Much loved brother of Theresa, Joan (dec.), Vincent (dec.), Claire (dec.), Basil, Alice (dec.), and Kevin. Especially loved and adored by Shirley, Kevin, Marian (dec.), Lawrence, Annette, Damian, Dianne, Christopher and Bernard. Unexpectedly called to Eternal Life while enjoying life and friendship. You lived life to the full: Priest, Innovator, Missionary, Visionary, Comedian, Artisan, Craftsman, Traveller, Perfectionist, Poet, Inventor and Architect. In the image of our Maker, We see love divine; And through each brief encounter We grow in love sublime. We see your face (Rev. Cyril Blake) You will be a Priest forever in the Priestly Order of Melchizedek (Hebrews).

Blake, Rev. Cyril. The Committee of Melbourne Overseas Missions, chaired by the Archbishop of Melbourne, mourn the loss of Fr Cyril Blake. From 1969 until 1981, Cyril worked tirelessly in the isolated Gulf Province of Papua New Guinea as a Missionary Priest. There he established a church, schools, medical facilities, community resources and an airstrip - transforming the lives of indigenous peoples in some of the most remote communities on earth. In return, he was deeply loved and respected by the Kamea people. Upon his return to Melbourne in 1981, he remained a passionate supporter of Melbourne Overseas Missions for the Archdiocese of Melbourne. May he rest in peace; good and faithful servant.
