Coffey, Michael J., Irish
Very little is known of this young priest who died at the age of 27 and whose remains lie in the Goulburn Cemetery. He was born in or close to Nenagh in County Tipperary, Diocese of Killaloe. Probably the onset of T.B. brought him from All Hallows to complete his studies in Australia. Ordination was conferred by Dr. Lanigan in Goulburn some time in 1870. A brief stay of service at Tumut and two years at Yass ended life's short span in March 1873.
