Carew, Denis Patrick, SM, Very Rev., Irish, Visitor
Loved Marist in Christchurch Diocese
The meagre details are: born in Diocese of Cashel, County Tipperary, on 20 December 1849; Marist Profession on 22 August 1872. He receives mention only as a visitor to Sydney in 1874. The whole of his missionary career appears to have been spent in New Zealand. Directory tracings show: Greymouth (1886) (1903), and (1915). Seemingly he died there on 12 February 1918, at the age of 68.
