Death of Father John Kelly, Freeman's Journal, Sydney, 11 June 1870, p 5, http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article115294508:

It is with regret we have to record that the Archdiocese has lost a most excellent missionary priest in the person of the late Rev. Father John Kelly, who died at half-past eight on Thursday evening. For a year and a half after his arrival in the colony he was stationed at the Church of the Sacred Heart in this city, but in consequence of declining health, he was placed for a time with the Venerable Archdeacon Rigney, and afterwards transferred to St. Mary's Cathedral, where he has been officiating for the last six months. Up to Tuesday night last he was about the usual duties of his sacred office, and on Wednesday only showed symptoms of a critical state. On Thursday morning it became evident that his last hour was close at hand, and so on Thursday, in full possession of his consciousness, and fortified by all the rites of the Church, he calmly yielded up his gentle spirit. During his last hours he was sedulously attended by his Grace the Archbishop, who gave him great consolation, by the Vicar-General, and many of the other priests of the city. After Solemn Dirge and High Mass at 8 o'clock this day, the funeral will leave immediately for the cemetery at Petersham.
