Here first in the second row is the most junior, Victor Francis Roberts, who was ordained at St Patrick's College, Manly, in December of 1926. He was assistant at Coolangatta, Gympie, Maryborough and Ipswich, Parish Priest at Esk and finally Parish priest at Indooroopilly for 35 years [1938-1973]. While there, he built the controversial new Holy Family Church, opened in 1963. Vic, being a Roberts, ran 'a tight ship', 'was a quiet man' and certain priests and curates were more welcome to the presbytery than others. Being 'Con's brother' was always associated with his name. Another brother, Tom, got as far as the Irish College in Rome but did not go on. He retired to Canossa in 1973 where he died on 29th May 1975, and burial took place at Nudgee.
